For all our latest updates, business fun and stories...

There comes a point in business when you realise that following every trend, listening to every expert, and trying to do things the “right” way can leave you feeling more disconnected than inspired.
And that is often the moment your heart starts whispering again.
For so many women in creative and wellbeing businesses, the heart of the work was never just about making money. Of course, we need our businesses to support us well, but for many of us, it begins with something deeper. A calling. A passion. A quiet nudge that says, there is something here you are meant to share.
Something healing.
Something beautiful.
Something supportive.
Something creative.
Something only you can bring in quite the same way.
That matters.
Because in a world where it is easy to compare, copy, and second-guess ourselves, your individuality is not something to smooth away. It is the very thing that makes your business memorable, meaningful, and needed.

One of the biggest traps in business is believing there is one perfect formula.
That if you just followed the exact path of someone else, used their strategy, borrowed their tone, or shaped yourself into something more polished, more productive, or more visible, everything would somehow click into place.
But creative and well-being businesses are rarely built well that way.
They are built through connection. Through truth. Through lived experience. Through your story, your energy, your values, your ideas, your style, your voice, your way of seeing the world.
That is where the magic lives.
You do not need to be the loudest voice in the room.
You do not need to be the slickest.
And you definitely do not need to squeeze yourself into a business model that leaves you exhausted and wondering why you started in the first place.
You are allowed to build a business that fits who you are.
A business with heart.
A business with soul.
A business with purpose.
A business that reflects your personality, your pace, your passions, and your vision.
That is not indulgent. It is wise.
And often, it is far more sustainable, too.
Sometimes the idea of “following your heart” can be dismissed as if it is airy-fairy or unrealistic.
I see it differently.
I think it takes real courage.
It takes courage to trust your own inner knowing when everyone else seems to be doing something different.
It takes courage to admit that what looks good on paper does not actually feel right in your body.
It takes courage to create something original when it would be easier to follow the crowd.
And it takes courage to say:
This is who I am.
This is what I care about.
And this is how I want to do business.
For women in creative and wellbeing work, heart-led business is often where the most powerful work happens. Because when your work is aligned with your values and passion, people can feel it.
They feel the honesty.
The care.
The thought behind it.
The lived experience behind the offer, the service, the product, or the words.
You stop simply selling.
You start connecting.
And connection is where trust begins.
One of the things I care deeply about is creating spaces where women do not feel they have to become more like someone else in order to belong.
So many traditional business spaces can leave women feeling as if they need to perform, compete, harden, or fit a mould that was never designed with them in mind. But that is not what I want for the women in our community.
I want women to feel safe enough to be themselves.
To bring their creativity, their quirks, their softness, their strength, their ideas, their story, and the very things that make them different.
Because community should not flatten individuality. It should hold it. Celebrate it. Make room for it.
A beautiful community is not built by everyone being the same. It is built by women bringing their own gifts, perspectives, experiences, and strengths to the table.
That is where the richness is.
That is where collaboration grows.
That is where women stop hiding and start flourishing.
When we embrace individualism in business, we also give other women permission to do the same. And that creates a ripple effect far beyond our own work.
Your business may not have come from nowhere.
It may have been shaped by what you have lived through.
What you longed for.
What you could not find.
What helped you heal?
What lit you up?
What gave you hope?
What connected you back to yourself?
That is often where purpose begins.
And when you honour that, rather than brush past it, your business becomes more than a list of services. It becomes an extension of your values and your voice.
Whether you are an artist, designer, coach, therapist, maker, yoga teacher, nutritionist, florist, interior designer, writer, or someone weaving together several beautiful strands of work, your uniqueness is not too much.
It is your strength.
The right people are not looking for a carbon copy.
They are looking for someone who feels real. Someone whose work speaks to them. Someone whose energy, values, and approach feel aligned with what they need.
They are looking for you.
I know too, that following your heart in business does not mean life suddenly becomes straightforward. This year, I have been trying to gently balance running my business alongside my own health and caring for older family members, and it has been a real reminder that life and business do not always move in neat, tidy lines. Sometimes we are asked to slow down. To soften. To work differently. And that is where a heart-led business can feel especially precious. When motivation is low because your energy isn't where you would like it to be, it helps so much to do work you genuinely love. Work that still feels meaningful, even on the harder days. For me, that is one of the beautiful things about building a business around passion and purpose. It can bend with you. It can adapt with the season you are in. And as spring begins to unfold around us, I am reminded that growth is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is quiet, steady, and deeply rooted in what matters most.
If you have been feeling pulled in too many directions or a little disconnected from the reason you started, these journaling prompts may help you come back to yourself.
Pay attention to the parts of your work that energise you rather than drain you.
Ask yourself:
What parts of my business make me lose track of time in the best way?
What do I love talking about again and again?
Where do I feel most like myself in my work?
Not every good idea is the right idea for you.
Ask yourself:
What in my business feels expansive, exciting, or calm?
What feels heavy, forced, or out of alignment?
Where am I saying yes when my whole self means no?
Comparison can quickly pull you away from your own wisdom.
Ask yourself:
Where have I been comparing myself or my business to others?
What makes my business different in a positive way?
What would I create if I stopped worrying about how it looked from the outside?
Your deeper reason for doing this work matters, especially on the wobblier days.
Ask yourself:
Why did I begin this business in the first place?
Who do I most want to help, and why?
What do I want my work to stand for?
You do not have to offer something simply because it is popular or expected.
Ask yourself:
Which of my offers feels most aligned right now?
Is there something I am longing to create that reflects me more fully?
What would I love to be known for?
Your business should support your life, not swallow it whole.
Ask yourself:
What pace feels sustainable for me?
When do I feel most creative, focused, or connected?
How can I shape my business in a way that works with my energy rather than against it?
Some ideas stay with us for a reason.
Ask yourself:
What idea, dream, or direction keeps coming back to me?
What have I been putting off that my heart still wants?
What might happen if I trusted that nudge?
A heart-led business needs strong roots.
Ask yourself:
What values do I want my business to embody?
Where is my business currently aligned with those values?
What needs to shift so my business feels more truthful to me?
You are allowed to outgrow things. You are allowed to change direction.
Ask yourself:
What part of my business no longer feels like me?
What am I ready to let go of?
What version of my business wants to emerge next?
The right community will not ask you to shrink in order to belong.
Ask yourself:
Do the spaces around me support my individuality?
Where do I feel seen, encouraged, and understood?
What kind of community would help me grow while still feeling like myself?
Following your heart in business does not mean every step will feel easy.
There will still be doubts.
There will still be wobbles.
There will still be seasons when you question yourself.
But being different is not the problem.
Dimming yourself is.
Your business gets to be as unique as you are. It gets to reflect your heart, your values, your story, your creativity, and your way of helping others. And the more you honour that, the more your business can become something that not only works, but feels deeply meaningful too.
When women build businesses from the heart, with courage, creativity, and care, they do not just create income.
They create ripples.
Connection.
Healing.
Inspiration.
New ways of doing business that feel more human, more sustainable, and far more joyful.
And honestly, that sounds a lot better than forcing yourself into a box that never fitted in the first place.
Before you rush on to the next task on your list, pause for a moment and ask yourself:
What would my business look and feel like if I trusted my heart a little more?
Perhaps that is where your next step begins.
